The day we got him... and now.

So you are probably tired of my dog photos. My dogs... someone else's dogs... random dogs.
But I have to show this.
This, if you somehow don't already know, is Professor Plum. We just call him Professor. We got him at Animal Control. In October. His name there was Fabian. We changed it.
He was quite sad looking when we got him.

This is Professor now. I took these this weekend. Look how cute he has become!!!

What's my point? Not that we took a sad, pathetic dog and made him a happy home. Although we did.
My point is... quit buying designer dogs. Look at the Humane Society or rescue groups or your local animal shelter. SAVE A DOG...
or a cat.
: )

I never get sick of dog pictures. Good for you for adopting, he looks like a sweetie.

Yeah, I can't imagine "buying" an animal. Kira was $20 I think, and I think Diego was $30 or something, and they're the greatest! I don't get the "designer" dog thing either.

Bearette - do you have any pets? I suppose having a new baby will be work enough for awhile!

Katie - Yeah, Apple was free but only because Chris' ex-wife spent $1500 on her and then couldn't take care of her. But Uni was like $60 and I think Professor was on sale for $45 because he'd been at the shelter for so long.

What really gets me is now they are mixing dogs and coming up with Labradoodles or Puggles... They sell them for just as much as the single breed dogs. When you mix breeds, they become mutts! You don't sell mutts as designer breeds! It's insane!
And either way, the shelters have all kinds of dogs, including single breed dogs!

I grew up with a terrier, but no pets currently :( Our building doesn't allow them, plus D is allergic to dogs and I'm allergic to cats (even though I like them).

We love Professor!

Bearette... if you ever live somewhere that allows them, maybe a non-shedding dog would be okay for your husband's allergies. Neither one of my current dogs shed, which is a nice change.

Toni... you'll have to come visit him soon! When is our next dog park outing! I'll bring my new camera...

What a huge difference in the pictures - it looks like a different dog. He is very cute!!

And I agree with you about getting dogs at the shelters. I had 2 dogs and they both were from the shelter.

Yay Elsa!
Both of my dogs growing up were from the Humane Society. They were the best dogs ever!
I wonder if saved animals know they were saved... so they are more appreciative.
